Mental Health Exercise Therapy Program

Provides an exercise program catered to the needs of individuals in an effort to reduce psychological stress and onset of mental illnesses
Fraser Health offers this program to help individuals maintain mental and physical well-being. Exercise programs are centred around each individual and their fitness level. This guarantees the utmost safety for each individual in an exercise program. The goal is to promote and maintain physical activity, increase one's own awareness of healthy living and support the independent exercise.

The program offers a standard 3 months exercise program for individuals simply wanting to be active. The program is currently running virtually with groups and one on one. Patients must be attached to a Mental Health and Substance Centre to be referred to this program.
It includes:
  • Cardiovascular training
  • Resistance training (machine weights)
  • Core strengthening
  • Stretching
  • Weekly education sessions
  • Intake assessment
  • Program completion assessment
  • Tools you need to manage your own physical and mental health
  • Classes two times per week
