YMCA Youth BEAT Employment program
Education, Employment, Mental Health - Adult & Senior, Mental Health - Child & Youth, and Youth Services

This holistic program provides participants with a wealth of job search support and tools for managing their mental health. The groups run as 5 weeks of group-based online workshops followed by 12 weeks of support while participants enter employment or further training/education.
More specifically, the program provides:
- Pre-employment and job readiness skills through workshops
- Mental health and physical wellness workshops
- 1 on 1 career planning, mentoring and coaching
- Short-term certificate training based on employment goals and requirements of hiring employer (eg. WHMIS, Food Safe etc.)
- Job placement and follow up
- Between $600 and $1000 in bonus incentives for successful completion of the program and employment outcomes
- Other supports provided as needed
To participate in the program, youth must be between 17 and 29 years old, a Canadian Citizen, Permanent Resident or Confirmed Refugee, unemployed or precariously employed (working less than 20 hours per week), not attending full-time school, and experiencing some form of mental health barrier to finding and/or maintain employment.
